Whatever it takes in 2012.
That's what I wish for you—I wish that you would adopt a mindset that wipes the slate clean and enables you to start (and finish) 2012 with the passion of youth.
Who among us can't recall teenage nights looking up at the stars and imagining a future that burns just as brightly?
And now?
For many, those specific dreams did not come true. For some, life placed serious hurdles in our way. For some, life offered many excuses for those who found settling a less burdensome way of being.
But what I'm discovering is that those teenage dreams did not occur in a vacuum; they occurred because we already know ourselves well enough to know the strength inside. That strength is different in each of us, but what was there, then, is there…now. But will you open that vein today?
Like you, I've faced my share of hurdles and I've tripped over a few. Probably, I've even used them as excuses from time to time.
But no more. Not in 2012. In 2012 I'm going to be a walking fool, working hard and fearing nothing, not even those times that painful mistakes are bound to occur. I'll shake them off like a wet dog, get back up and get back to work.
I'm going to accomplish much in 2012--more than I have in any year of my life! And that means I'm going to work my butt off trying to help you succeed. Your success, in return, will nurture me as we create this upward spiral of to the stars.
There is no winding down for entrepreneurs in today's world. No standing still. No status quo. Nature abhors not only a vacuum, but also stagnant organisms…and so should you.
Success does not necessarily mean growing in size—I'm all in favor of lean and even solo enterprises—but it does mean experiencing the fulfillment of leaving the playing field exhausted every day and waking up renewed in your enthusiasm every morning, filled with the courage to face the new day.
That's why I've launched a monthly publication, The Business of Design Magazine, in addition to semi-annual conferences…to reach you more often. That's why I'm writing weekly blog posts and have completely revamped the social Website at designingpfrofits.com. That's why I want you to engage!
Together, we can do this. 2012 is the year.
Are you with me?
Happy holidays and happy new year.
