I think that my #1 Resolution is to add Concierge Service to my menu of services. I have been noodling around with this since September and would like to roll out the plan in the New Year. Cheers!

Permalink Reply by Tim Schelfe, ASID, CAPS on November 29, 2011 at 10:58pm I guess it is that time of year again?? OK David, you know my 2011 resolution or mantra was "Focus" and overall I have to say generally that concept was kept by me and my team. So this year I have adopted a commitment to "Change". That's all I am going to say at this moment in time, more details to follow...

Permalink Reply by Tanya Shively on December 13, 2011 at 1:39pm all good ideas- I admit I haven't got my resolutions just yet, but will let you know when I do decide on the #1
#1 for me, is SLACK.
Creating moments in my schedule that allow my most creative, strategic and artistic mind to step away from the barrage, demands, and interruptive nature of the day. Because it's in these moments of slack in which I free my mind and thought processes to create an environment for potentially game-changing ideas to come forward.
(Conferences always help with this. Away from routine, schedules, office... sometimes where the mind wanders is as important as what is presented!)

My word is ACTION - I need to start implementing not just planning on so many areas. One of the things I am starting with is a commitment to taking one business school course per week- or at least part of a course, one day every week.
I am also taking action on creating a business strategy and marketing plan for the year, and then following through on that plan. I willbe working on this durning the Christmas break while I am out of the office.
Permalink Reply by Carol E. Parra-Little on December 19, 2011 at 3:50pm Tanya, I like your ACTION word. As you've stated, I also see creating the written plans for business strategy and marketing.
As we've begun discussing 2012 internally, our mantra has shifted somewhat from jus "FOCUS", to "FOCUS & SIMPLICITY". I've scheduled two blocks of time with my administrator in the next three weeks to prepare for an all hands team meeting in early January. I want to give some preliminary guidelines to my vision for the year, and also hear from my designers what is important to them. To be succussful, the year will need to be a fine balance of both and I need buy in from everyone in the office to have that occur.
