And Annual Business of Design Conference
OK gang new question! We have recently been awarded a large Senior Living Facility in the State of North Carolina (Hooray!!!). While my firm has had significant experience with commercial projects and smaller medical offices this will be our first major Senior Living Center. So if anyone in our BPN has experience with work on Senior Living Facilities and would like to share some Best Practices with me and my team I would appreciate it! I am looking for ideas on presentation packages for furniture specifications or support software (other than Studio IT), recommendations on best furnishings vendors for Healthcare interiors and other planning ideas. Please feel free to respond through the BPN Forum or email me directly at tim@schelfeassociates.com or call my office at 919.832.8013.
Thank you!
Tim

We got really busy about a month ago. I had been working a a contract for a big, new construction home, which they signed and I am working with Auberge hotels on a project and have a complete furnish for a 4,000 sq ft house that is being ordered today, with two smaller contracts also recently signed. I feel pretty secure for the next year, but I am cautiously optimistic! I hope this is a trend that stabilizes for all of us.
Permalink Reply by Tim Schelfe, ASID, CAPS on November 22, 2011 at 9:42pm Awesome news! Congrats on you securing work well into next year. I swear will we ever get over the jitters and uncertainty from the past three years of this dumb recession? Maybe we all need to be cautiously optimistic from now on and for the rest of our careers? I am really glad to hear things are going good in your neck of the woods. Getting ready for ski season?
Our pipeline is getting better as we now have three fairly large commercial projects lined up; the Senior Living Center and two large Apartment projects. Our residential work continues to squeek by; we are finishing up a 3,000 sq ft penthouse condo and a smattering of remodeling and re-decoration projects. 2011 has been better than 2010 but still way off from 07 & 08. Stay in touch and thanks again for the response!

We are on the tail end of finishing our first assisted living facility....so I know your excitement! We tracked down a great source for furniture, ect. Manufacture is KWALU, 10 year warranty on the finish. Also, just as an aside, our client was not sure of what their wall paneling would look like so Kwalu, at no expense, installed 14' of our specified paneling, at our clients requested project location so they could better assess what the desired effect looked like....we found this amazing based on what is going on with today's manufactures. Needless it all worked our very well. Hope it's all good for your new project!

Thank you for your reply and lead on the furniture line. What I am working on now are all the CODE compliance issues for Healthcare furnishings. If your going to be in Scottsdale I would love to pick your brain for a few moments? Let me know and we'll schedule some time to talk!
Thank you,
Tim
