And Annual Business of Design Conference
Good day...
Christina and I are looking to pitch the "design concierge" concept to our market niche and are wondering if anyone else has launched the concept yet?
If so, any words of advice ?

Permalink Reply by Tanya Shively on October 20, 2011 at 11:03am I have done it with my proposals to clients and had one take me up on it. I haven't advertised it to my market, just when I present my three service options that is the Platinum level and it allows for quaterly check-ins to make sure everything is working correctly and see if there is a need to update anything as well as a more in-depth annual check-in to really look for areas that need to be addressed. This is all after the intial design project is complete. The initial design process is very comprehensive and includes everything soup to nuts, with a party at completion and lots of service provided throughout. I tailor each proposal to what the client wants as the mid-level and then add to it for the platinum concierge level and take it down to design only for the lowest level offered. Each level is priced accordingly.
So far clients have really liked seeing options, and most have gone for the mid-level (as expected) but like I said one did opt for the concierge level.
I will upload copies of what I use for the proposal if you'd like to see it. I present that along with my agreement that allows them to chekc off the options they choose and then the agreement states the details of responsibilites, rights and payment, etc as per the usual stuff referencing the attached proposal for fee structure and scope.
Hope this helps some-

That would be wonderful. Thank you.
We are going to use the "concierge concept" to go after new clients in our market niche where we hope to get our foot in the door for a nominal price.. then deliver beyond expectations.. so they won't let us go. Typically, once we are in it has been rare that we do not become their go-to resource for everything and with many have become their ongoing "design stewards" so to speak.
Thanks again and enjoy the weekend.

sorry I didn't see your reply sooner- here is my 'proposal' that I used, and one that the client saw.

Permalink Reply by Phyllis Harbinger on November 27, 2011 at 9:59pm Hi Craig--
I too have been looking at this idea and am considering adding it to my menu of services in the new year. I would send to a select group of clients and make it all about luxury and availability to me. I would set aside one Wednesday a month where this VIP group had access to me via phone for quick quesitons, etc. I would also set up 2 VIP events per year and offer this group 2 on site half-day consults at their homes per year to discuss holiday or party decor, a spring refresh, etc. I have not worked out all of the details yet but I think it could provide a good revenue stream. The invitations would be printed and done with caligraphy.......This is just my stream of consciousness. What are you thinking about?
